SUPPORTERS
The Trust generates income to support the maintenance of the park and facilitation of our current education programs. However we are reliant upon sourcing external funding to support the rehabilitation of the park.
We have been fortunate to receive an annual grant from our Settlor partner the Waimakariri District Council.
Additionally, we have been supported for specific projects by Te Runanga o Ngāi Tahu, the CWMS Waimakariri Zone Committee, Vodafone Foundation, the World Wildlife Fund for Nature, Walking Access NZ, Te Ngāi Tūāhuriri Runanga, Landcare Research, Environment Canterbury and the Department of Conservation.
We have also received multi-year support from Trees That Count and Tanes Trees in the form of tree purchases for specific projects within the park.
We are extremely grateful for their support .
Mā whero, mā pango, ka oti ai te mahi (through unity the task shall be achieved).
Volunteers
Te Kōhaka o Tūhaitara has a large group of volunteers supporting the work of the Trust. This includes trapping, planting, tutoring, actually pretty much anything that we do.
If you are interested in helping out, whether on a regular, casual or one off basis, follow us on our Friends of Tuhaitara Coaastal Park facebook page or contact the Trust GM tkot@farmside.co.nz
Planned Giving
Te Kōhaka o Tūhaitara is a registered Charitable Trust. We welcome unconditional bequests and donations and are happy to discuss conditional donations. The Trust recommends that individuals wishing to help the Trust through a bequest in their Will, seek independent advice from a solicitor or Trustee Company.
